Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how JingleLayer ("we", "us", "our") handles personal information when you use our desktop application or visit jinglelayer.org (the "Service"). We aim to collect the minimum data needed to operate the Service and to be transparent about every category of data we touch.
1. Who we are
The Service is operated by FOP Artem Kovalchuk, a sole proprietor registered in Ukraine.
- Address: 21 Velyka Vasylkivska Street, Office 12, Kyiv, 03150, Ukraine
- Email: hello@jinglelayer.org
- Phone: +380 (67) 234-56-78
2. What we collect
2.1 In the desktop app
The desktop app is designed to keep your audio local. Specifically:
- Audio files never leave your computer. We don't upload, store, or analyze the tracks or jingles you process.
- License code and owner name you enter on activation are stored on your device and sent to our license provider (licenserer.com) only to verify the license.
- Device identifier — a per-installation random UUID combined with platform name and hostname — is generated locally and sent to the license provider so we can bind your license to your device.
- License state cache (status, expiry date) is stored on disk so the app keeps working briefly when offline.
2.2 On the website
jinglelayer.org is a static informational site. We do not place tracking cookies and do not embed third-party analytics that profile you. We may use privacy-friendly aggregate analytics (such as Plausible or Cloudflare Web Analytics) that do not store cookies and do not identify individual visitors.
2.3 When you contact us or buy a license
If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. If you purchase a paid plan, our payment processor handles your billing details — we receive only the information needed to issue the license (name, email, country, license type).
3. Why we use it
- To activate and verify your license.
- To deliver software updates and security fixes.
- To answer your support requests.
- To comply with legal and tax obligations.
4. Legal basis (GDPR)
We rely on (a) contractual necessity for license activation and support, (b) legitimate interest for service security and fraud prevention, and (c) legal obligation for tax and accounting records.
5. Sharing
We share only what is strictly necessary with:
- License provider (licenserer.com) — license code, device identifier, owner name.
- Payment processor — billing information you provide at checkout.
- Hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) — standard server logs for the website.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data.
6. Retention
We keep license records for the lifetime of the license plus the period required by Ukrainian tax law (currently 3 years after the last transaction). Support emails are kept for up to 24 months.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, export, and request deletion of your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. To exercise any of these, email hello@jinglelayer.org. We respond within 30 days.
8. Security
License communications run over HTTPS. License files on your device are stored in the standard application data directory of your operating system. We don't transmit your audio files anywhere — they stay on your computer.
9. Children
JingleLayer is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page and dated at the top.
11. Contact
